ABOUT STATSBYGG

Statsbygg is the Norwegian government’s building commissioner, property manager and developer. We also advise the government in construction and property affairs.

Our role is to provide and maintain quality public facilities and workplaces for other state agencies. We also function as an advisor during concept development and planning phases of certain projects.

Our work includes commissioning building projects like the Norwegian Opera House in Oslo or The Global Seed Vault in Svalbard. We also manage many national heritage properties and Norwegian embassies, as well as most of the buildings and properties we have commissioned.

 In addition to providing appropriate and functional spaces for the public sector, we also realise current political objectives regarding architecture, planning, preservation of heritage sites and environmental issues.
